OxShot #3 - Eagle and Child

The Eagle and Child

The pub The Eagle and Child, nicknamed "The Bird and Baby", is currently owned by St. John's College. J. R. R. Tolkien and C. S. Lewis, both members of the "Inklings" writers' group, used to meet here Tuesday lunchtimes to discuss their unfinished stories.

"Oxshot" is our brand new snapshot series, photographed by Anastasia Tkach: every Monday, get a glimpse of the city's literary life, and be reminded of its astonishing cultural richness. One take, for your double-take.
